Nestled on Union Island, Belmont Salt Pond is a significant wetland ecosystem and one of the island’s most important habitats for resident and migratory birds. It is also one of the few remaining salt ponds in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines where salt harvesting continues as a traditional practice, connecting the landscape to both the biodiversity and cultural heritage of the community.

For this project, I had the opportunity to create two interpretive signs highlighting the flora and fauna found throughout the preserve. I illustrated each of the featured plants and birds and developed the signage itself, with the goal of creating something that could help visitors better understand, appreciate, and connect with the life within this unique landscape.

It was especially meaningful to contribute to a project that brings together conservation, education, and visual storytelling; using illustration and design as a way to make the natural world a little more visible.
